The U13DS team had a phenomenal showing in Scarborough. In game one of the round robin the Junior Lakers would go on to pick up a 2-1 win over the Clarington Flames, they would then go on to beat the host Scarborough Sharks 2-1 to end day one with a 2-0-0 record.
On Saturday the North Bay squad would find themselves fighting for first place as they took on the also undefeated Central York Panthers. The game would end in a 1-1 tie with both teams earning a bye to the semi-finals on Sunday.
On Sunday morning the Junior Lakers would face a strong Whitby team, regulation time saw both teams deadlocked at zero, and overtime solved nothing. The Junior Lakers would go on to win the shootout in round 4 to advance to the championship game.
The championship game would see a rematch from the opening game with North Bay taking on the Clarington Flames. The game would see back and forth action and chances from both teams. The Flames would eventually score first with just over 4:30 remaining in the third period. The lone goal by the Flames would serve as the game winning goal and the Jr.Lakers would bring the first ever silver medal at the DS level back to North Bay.
