U11B Ice Boltz Survive the Hive to Bring Home Gold from Oakville

The U11B North Bay Ice Boltz had a successful weekend at the Oakville Hornets Survive the Hive tournament producing a 5-0-0 record and out scoring their opponents 21-3.

The Ice Boltz started the tournament off strong with a 2-0 win over the Niagara Rapids and a 10-2 win against the Haldimand Rivercats on Friday before going on to cap round robin play with a 2-0 victory over the Southpoint Stars on Saturday.

In semi-final action the Ice Boltz faced the host Oakville Hornets where they went on to pick up a convincing 5-0 victory on route the championship game.

Sunday afternoon in the champion game the Ice Boltz skated to a 2-0 lead before Carleton-Place found the back of the net to cut the Ice Boltz lead to one. That would be the only time the Cyclones would score and the Ice Boltz would skate to a 2-1 victory bring their second Gold Medal of the season back to North Bay!
