U15B Claim Gold on Home Ice

The Junior Lakers U15B team went 1-2-1 through round robin play just sneaking into the semi-finals as the 4th seed. 

During the semi-final game the Junior Lakers faced the number 1 seeded Stittsville Rockets who were undefeated through 4 games and only allowed 1 goal against. The Junior Lakers came out hard to earn a 1-0 win to advance to the gold medal game. 

In the Championship game the Junior Lakers faced the Nepean Wildcat in what was a back and fourth game, the Wildcats opened the scoring by the Junior Lakers quickly answered back with a goal of their own. The game continued with Nepean taking a 2-1 lead early in the second period with a power play chance. The Lakers answered back in the third to tie the game at two forcing overtime. 

The extra frame proved to be no help as the final buzzer went with the game still even at two. In the shootout, Nepean's shots were saved on all 3 attempts while the Junior Lakers found the back of the net on shot two to win the championship game.
