National Truth and Reconciliation day
September is a time of reflection and reconciliation, to do our part and remember the Indigenous children who never came home from Canadian residential schools, as well as those who survived them. This season the North Bay & District GHA has started to teach our athletes the importance of raising awareness towards truth and reconciliation. This year the NBDGHA asked coaches to order a set of Orange Jerseys from the Orange Jersey Project. To go along with this the NBDGHA asked coaches to read the story that came with their jerseys to their players as well as share resources with players that allow them to understand why we pause and reflect not just during the month of September but all year.
