This past weekend, the U9 Sky Blue Junior Lakers travelled North to take part in the Sudbury Snowflake Tournament.
The U9 Sky Blue team got to play their games at the Northern Hockey Academy, as part of Hockey Canada's half-ice rules, U9 teams can play on 3/4 ice to experience playing on a "full" ice pad.
Tournament play began Friday as the U9 Sky Blue Junior Lakers faced off agains the Sudbury Blue team where they skated a great game.
Saturday was a bright and early morning game against the Sudbury - Grey team, and once again, the U9 Sky Blue Junior Lakers played an amazing game of end to end hockey. Later in the day on Saturday, the Junior Lakers were up against the experienced Barrie Sharks. The Junior Lakers were up for the challenge and continued playing their best while having lots of fun on and off the ice.
On Sunday in the final game, the Junior Lakers played the Sudbury - White Lady Wolves. The Junior Lakers battled hard, and with smiles and resilience came out on top! A great way to end their first tournament experience of the season.
The coaching staff, parents, and supporters are all proud of the hard work, resilience and spirit the U9 Sky Blue Junior Lakers displayed this past weekend.
